Next Stop for Markku’s Taxi Series: Havana

We are excited to share some of our favorite portraits from Markku’s 2nd Taxi series.

For this latest taxi adventure, Markku and Anne traveled to Cuba to find and document the thousands of American cars from the 1950’s that are put to work as taxis.

Markku spent his days walking the streets from sunrise to sunset, connecting with locals (many of whom did not speak a word of English).   As the pace of Cuban life is a slow one, people had time to stop spend few moments with him.  And as happens during many of his personal projects, he was invited to some of their homes to meet the family or have a beer with them in the local corner bar.

And if you missed his heavily awarded and talked about Mumbai series that inspired this new adventure to Cuba, check it out here.
